Introduction


Having contacted Ambassador Spock on Romulus, Picard and Data must help him determine whether his hopes for re-unification talks between Romulus and Vulcan have any hopes of proceeding. Meanwhile, their investigation into stolen Vulcan ship parts leads Riker and the Enterprise crew into the seamy underbelly of the quadrant. Will these two plots coincide? Can we possibly get a resolution to this story that pays off on the first part's promise?

Introduction

A startling discovery by Starfleet Intelligence threatens the security of the entire Federation. Introduction

The Enterprise is struck by a quantum filament, a dangerous phenomenon that severely damages the ship. Powerless, and adrift, most of the crew is trapped where they are, with no way to communicate with anyone else. Captain Picard is trapped in an unstable turbolift with a group of school children. On the bridge, Counselor Troi is suddenly the ranking officer, and is now faced with a new crisis. The anitmatter containment field is failing, and she must make a choice. Separate the saucer and leave many of the crew to die, or try to repair the damage, and risk all thousand people on board.

Commander Data reminisces over days when his neck wasn't so fat.

Introduction

A Federation colony near the Cardassian border is attacked and a group calling themselves the Bajora claim responsibility. The Cardassians annexed the Bajoran homeworld decades ago and since Bajoran refugees have struggled make a home in the surrounding systems, and with this attack, it appears at least some of them are willing to go to extreme measures to press their case. With the fragile Cardassian treaty in the balance, the Enterprise is tasked with defusing the situation and finding those responsible. Toward that end, Starfleet sends them Ensign Ro Laren, a Bajoran and disgraced Starfleet officer. Can Captain Picard get to the bottom of this mystery and deal with the volatile and unpredictable Ensign Ro.
Sigh. Yes, I'll show you the hidden communicator trick again...

Introduction

Things get dicey, though, when it becomes clear that the alien captain also has a method in mind of establishing communication... a deadly method.

Introduction

The Klingon Civil War is in full swing, and the Duras seem to be winning. In the Empire, Worf is dealing with the consequences of his decisions, and finds living among fellow Klingons not as easy as he thought it would be. On the Enterprise, Captain Picard can't help but suspect that the Duras' Romulan connections are affecting the outcome of the war. If that is so, then the Federation not only can, but must, intervene. He convinces Starfleet to let him try to expose the Romulan involvement, but his investigation will reveal another secret no one on the Enterprise is prepared for.
